Community Outreach Officer
The key objectives of outreach support are to prevent the suffering of pets and improve overall pet welfare by reaching vulnerable pets and pet owners at an early stage. Officers are an integral part of spreading information on what services Wood Green can provide to the public and dispersing this information directly to owners or via local authorities and other integral local services.
The Community Outreach Officer will work with customers via telephone consultations, home visits, and ‘events’ such as health and wellbeing checks. The aim is to provide a bespoke package of support to keep pets in homes, where this is in the best interests of both the pet and owner, or support and signpost to alternative services including relinquishment or assisted euthanasia.
The successful applicant will be motivated to actively support initiatives to help both pets and their owners and will have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Applicants need to be willing to have a flexible approach to working to include some weekends and evenings to meet the demands of the department.
